Invoice is the price that the dealer pays for the car. Anything under invoice the dealer looses money.
There is a lot of great information on edmunds.com about the total car buying experience and all the various terms involved. Its good to know this before heading into a big purchase.
Good luck and if you have any other questions give us a shout.

Don't forget that every car that is sold at the dealer has the dealer holdback and wholesale reserve, that no matter what comes out of the invoice. so even at "invoice" they are still making that $$ (holdback, reserve). plus i know they get something back from lexus for sales volume.

also -- about sales tax -- you won't ever have to pay taxes twice -- you'll either pay in Texas or in Kansas when you register it -- again thats up to the dealer.

well im not getting an IS350 but i thought i'd share some of my price quotes....the highest price i got was 500 off MSRP. The best price was invoice plus 1000. The average price was around 3000 off MSRP. MSRP and invoice is seperated by about 5K some dollars so. if you want to know which dealers that was send me a PM. hope this helps.

Tast of Lexus Coupon
I have read about the taste of Lexus coupon that many people seem to have. I assume there was an event that everyone got these coupons at? What is the chance that someone has a coupon that they are not using and would be willing to send to me? My IS should be arriving around the 15th and would love to have an additional $750 in savings. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
