The first 08s made it to dealers right near end of sept/start of october.
You can definitely get a good deal on a special order if you find the right dealer though. I'm always amazed at dealerships that try to discourage what for them amounts to a 100% certain profit on filling out some paperwork.

I looked for Lexus dealers in Fremont and came up with Magnusson Lexus of Freemont. Is that the one?

Thanks again, tfz_hebe.
I'll be posting price and dealer once I've made the purchase I'm looking out-of-state (I live in Vegas) as the dealer here feels they have a 'captive audience' and won't budge much off MSRP ($1,500). I'm looking in CA mostly, but also TX, and whatever deal my Credit Union, Sam's Club, and Costco might be able to swing. Whoever gives the best deal on 'close' to the specs I am looking for (Sport or Lux with or without ML) wins.

You should try lexus of putnam if you are planning on buying out of state. I bought the car from them and got the car shipped to VA. My car: black/black, 18", HID,premium package, preferred accessories 1250 < invoice. Definitely give Jeff Demchek (internet sales a call/email)

Invoice $35,900, MSRP $40,900.
I paid $36,000 + $2,100 tax = $38,100 OTD.
This was a special order.
The dealer made his money on the $681 holdback + $489.50 doc/prep fee + any markup on a $1,550 full clear bra and the $265 tint.

Hey,
1250 under dealer invoice. (MSRP of the car was 35,595; invoice: 31,509), so 30,259 + 50 dealer prep fee + 3.1% VA taxes + 1300 to ship. If only shipping wasn't part of the equation. Good luck guys!

Someone on the Car Chat Fourm said a couple of Florida Lexus dealers are advertising $4K, $6K and $8K "cash back" offers on various models. I think the dealers were in Orlando and Melbourne.
Anyone seen them? Nothing even remotely like that around here.

Hiyas. New to the forum and new to Lexus, and I would appreciate your advice on this deal. Could I do better, should I jump on it, should I book a trip to a CA dealer, etc etc ?
The deets:
IS350
-Glacier Frost Mica/Cashmere
-ML
-Nav
-Luxury Package w/18 inch wheels
MSRP $45100. Dealer is asking $39889. Sounds like I could get them down to $39500.
Now I can see from having read this thread that this is a decent price. However, this car had a part of its front fender slightly dented and scratched by one of their staff when they were moving it (it has less than 20 miles on it). The dealer had the fender repaired/repainted and you can't really see where the damage was; pretty much looks as good as new.
What do you think? Thanks in advance.

tfz - Thanks for the reply. I asked for the $38's, but this dealer wasn't having any of it. Unfortunately, WA are dealers are not like the 36 or so CA dealers ...
This dealer also has several other IS350s similarly optioned and they won't budge below $2k off MSRP on any of those. The only reason they're going close to $6k on this car is because of the damage/repaint.
I'm going to play chicken and wait till the end of the month and see if they'll budge. If I do get in the low $38's, that would put me at $7k below MSRP for a loaded 2008 IS350 with minor fender paint job ...
By the way, does your car have ML?

Well, I must take back what I said about discounts on the IS250 in my previous post on this thread. I just got one for what I estimate to be about $450 over Edmunds/KBB invoice. Tungsten Pearl, Sterling grey, Auto, NAV, Premium plus, HIDs, 18" wheels, and importer pack Z1 (trunk carpet, trunk net, wheel locks). However, two dealers in my area both gave me the same invoice price which was $400 higher than the Edmunds/KBB invoice. Were they BS-ing me or is the invoice price somehow higher than KBB/Edmunds?
