I don't believe "sensor" is the word you are looking for. First, the Dynamic Radar Cruise and the Pre-crash System use the same Millimeter-wave radar device built into the grille emblem. Second, the Homelink system uses a transmitter, not a sensor. Not sure where it's located but I think it's contained in the same unit that houses the button.

thanks for the reply. so there is a device inside the lexus emblem on the grill? or is there something located right behind the grill?

can someone also verify the transmitter device for homelink is inside the rearview mirror? thanks!

What does your "L" logo on the grill look like? If you have it, the whole logo is raised and smooth (like the L on a piece of glass). I think you would have had to special order to get that option on a 250RWD.

so does this mean the Dynamic Radar Cruise and the Pre-crash System are both not standard on the is250? im pretty sure i knew the dynamic radar cruise was extra but isnt the pre-crash standard?

can anyone comment about the location of the transmitter for the homelink? also, is homelink std on all is'?

i guess i might as well ask another question. does anyone know how the airbags are deployed? is it based on sensors located throughout the car?

Transmitter is located on the mirror. Had to replace the mirror due to compass problem. Had to re-learn my garage door.

there are senors in the all doors, front bumpers. The front has a dual stage trigger, it allows the air bag to deploy based on the severity of the crash.

The pre-crash is part of the dynamic cruise. hope it helps!

Lexus.com lists what is standard and what is in each option and package pretty clearly for all models of the 2IS.

Pre-collision system with Dynamic radar cruise control is a single package with an MSRP of $2850

The homelink transceiver (built into the rear view mirror with 3 buttons) is standard.

the homelink transciever is inside the rear view mirror. it transmits a signal so it does not require a "sensor." I think what you're looking for is a sort of infared system which wouldn't work now would it when the homelink systems are inside houses and garages ;p

Typical pre-crash systems/dyamic radar cruise controls are within the grill. Look for it there. I know for BMW it was either on the upper or lower grill as the manager at my local dealer showed me.
