Default New Rims put on Bumpy RIDE!!! What to do??

I just put new 3 piece 19 inch rims on my IS350 , it rubs a little not too worried about that but the ride seems a lot more bumpier.

Should I lower the car to even out ride??
Suggestions; coilovers, springs.. etc
don't know what to do, lost the riding on cloud feel!!!

Is everything else is stock?

Bigger wheels with shorter tire sidewalls will always make a bumpier ride. Also, tire type will affect your ride. Run flats are the worse when it comes to ride comfort.

That's why I stuck with 18" wheels when I went aftermarket...

As far as I know, there is pretty much nothing you can do.

Lower the car with springs will probably get you an even harsher ride. I don't know if there are any coilovers out there that are softer than the stock suspension. If there are then that might be your only choice.

Default Everyone is correct, anytime you go to bigger

wheels, the size of the tire. height-wise, gets smaller, and you lose more space between the wheel and road surface, so you will feel more of the road since the cushion that absorbs the impacts is now way smaller. Go to Tire rack and see if any 19" tires are softer riding. My experience is that Pirelli has softer riding tires than Bridgestone. I hear that alot of Falken tires are softer and quieter too.
From my experience with BMW cars, and they are the masters at putting a nice compliant ride together with big wheels AND awesome handling, they use shocks and springs and alot of smart engineers to give them that perfect feel. You might check with Bilstein and see what they offer in terms of shocks, I hear they make alot of replacements for Bimmers and people who service them really like to replace with this brand. Good luck with this. Hope you can find a solution that you are happy with. DanF

If you want a more compliant ride you need to run a lower tire pressure . Now this can be a problem especially with 19" and larger wheels since you really don't have a whole lot of sidewall to absorb bumps and holes in the road. Secondly, running at a lower tire pressure will reduce tread wear. Other brand tires might help but who knows how much.

Bottom line is man, no matter what you through 19's on your ride quality is going to get a lot rougher. Lowering the car will make the ride worse in most comfort cases. Coilovers are usually a tighter ride than springs and shock combo's. If you want the comfort ride stock, but I wouldn't suggest that.

Pics??

u want good ride or the cloudy feeling get some 16's with a fatty tire then u be floating. like everyone else said the less the tire wall the more sportier the more you will feel every single small and big bump. suspension will improve handling a bit, better response but may not be what your looking for as in ride comfort

Tein CS have the ability to ride much softer than stock setup. When I had 19s they didn't really feel that much more harsh that stock, but then again I had PS2s on with my Tein CS coilovers.
