Shahryar,

Being in range does not imply it is dialed in correctly or perfect for the car, therefore your alignment could still be out for it. For instance, it could be on the extreme edge of being close to out out but still within green. It's more of fine tuning it to be correct for your car.

I'm mainly assuming alignment mainly. If it is your tires, that can affect it too which I treat this as a seperate issue; you will need somoene who his experienced in tires to look and feel the tread as well to verify.

The alignment shop I go do, does all this do I do not have to worry about issues about how my car performs.

^I hear you on the alignment being a factor. Just someone else mentioned it was w/in range so I thought that wouldn't be it. I just finished reading through the excessive pull to the right, anyone else have this problem in their F? thread and in all the cases there, it was an alignment issue.

but for me and Mong, the OP of the steering wheel doesn't return to center position? thread, the issue seems to have started w/ the new Hankook Tires. But yeah, if the Tire replacements/swaps don't do anything, Alignment is what I'll be eying. Also when I put my winter tires on in about 4 months I'll follow shortly with an alignment. I'll keep your alignment sheet as a model to give to the tech.

How is your alignment for performance vs maximizing tire life? I don't want to give up too much of my fun factor. That's what I signed up for when I went w/ the IS 350 versus another car.

^ You mean mine assume.

For me, when I had my alignment done, the alignment person (Byron), aligned and tuned the car according to my driving style (from the questions he asked like, use for street, racing etc...). Since I said general street use, it was set this way. From my guess it is probably mostly maximizing tire life and having some performance from my guess as I did not go in detail and asked him specifically this question.

Currently I have about over 17K on the tires and had them rotated at 12K and the tire wear is great so far. I get my tires checked about every 5-7K by Byron (his recommendation) so he can check the tires/pressure to see how they are doing to see advise if any adjustments is needed if an issue arises.

Default 2011 IS250C Death Trap

Anyone else having this problem too?
I've had an intermittent pulling problem from the day I drove my new IS250C out of the showroom. It does seem to be related to road conditions, but I consider it to be a very dangerous safety issue. I have a video I filmed with my iPhone showing the steering wheel spinning 90 degrees to the right when apply the brakes on a straight, flat road. There was a slight parallel "trench" in the road, but it was only 1/8" deep. The pulling is intermittent, and I can't duplicate it. I was lucky to get it recorded. I've had it happen at highway speeds, where the wheel pulled to the left when applying the brakes, almost sending my new car into the guard rail. Lexus of Queens (NYC) was unable to fix the problem, so I notified Lexus HO and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Still waiting for a reply. If anyone wants to see the 47-second video I can email it. I can be reached at PaulSlapikas@mac.com.

same boat my is250 awd pulls to the right when I let go of the wheel not just a little bit by a lot. Went to lexus and they said it was "normal" there is some sort of chip in the car that makes it pull according to the way the road goes... lol sounds pretty far fetched to me. :S thinking about rotating my wheels and seeing what happens

^ lol!!

Yeah they don't know what they are talking about. Bring it a alignment/tire specialist who knows their stuff.

Asakura, you're in BC rite?

How fast are you guys going to feel the pull on your cars? I usually go about 40mph on a smooth, flat road or parking lot to check for pulling when buying a used car. If you are going on the freeway and going 60 to 70mph, then you probably feel some pulls because of the road or tires. I don't think you should be taking your hands off the steering wheel while driving on freeway speed.

My pulling problem is definitely related to road conditions. However, I believe Lexus, in their attempt to add a safety feature entitled "stability control" somehow got it wrong. On a flat surface like an empty parking lot, there is no pulling at any speed. I drive in NYC where there is a lot of truck traffic. On some roads that heavy traffic causes parallel indentations in the road. If the wheels one side of my 2011 IS250C happen to be in the indentation (even if it's only 1/8" deep - that's one-eighth of an inch!!) the car will pull to one side when the brakes are engaged. Which side depends on exactly which wheels are in the indentation. I believe the car's software, possibly the stability control system, over-reacts. I have to fight the steering wheel to keep the car traveling straight ahead. The most dangerous incident occurred when I applied brakes while in the left lane on Grand Central Parkway in New York City (for you guys who know the area). The left side of the lane, next to the curb, had a slight buildup of asphalt that caused the left side of the car to be be about an inch higher than the right side. The car pulled violently to the left and almost hit the guardrail. When I'm driving straight ahead, on a reasonably flat road, I don't appreciate having to fight the steering wheel when I brake.
