Default Exhaust: rust-colored water

This is occuring only on the driver's side exhaust.

I noticed the rust-colored tip when I started to drive my car less (with supreme gas prices hovering around $4.75, I started to take the bus to work). Instead of making a 50-mile roundtrip, I now make a 4-mile one (still need to drive to a park & ride).

But why is this happening only on the driver's side? Is there something mechanically wrong going on?

is that the oem exhaust if so i believe its normal. mines was all black. try using the turtle wax exhaust cleaner. its like 1.99 at walmart where i live. mines was all black and once i used it, turned back to normal and shiny. use that to see if it gets rid of it. if that doesn't solve it take it to the dealer might be a rust problem.

The likely reason why it's only on one side is because one of the exhaust tips is mounted slightly off-center and the juice is leaking out in a different spot (not visisible). If you get under the car far enough, you'll likely see where it's coming out somewhere else. Mine does the same thing... one side always has more than the other. And that is because the juice is catching the seem where the tip meets the muffler area and leaking out there instead. There is nothing wrong with any of this. Every car has similar discharge. The chore is to keep it clean on a regular basis so it doesn't becomed permantant. For everytime you drive in the rain and the exhaust tips become hot, the stains get baked in. So wipe the stuff off weekly and you will stay ontop of it.

there should be a pinhole in the muffler to drain any moisture. if it is plugged spit out the back like it is doing right now.
