Default How is everyone's leather wearing?

Specifically, the outside seat cushion that we rub againts getting in and out. I see no wear on mine after 2800 miles. But I am making a concerted effort to lift my body over the seat and plop in to prevent wear.

So far I have slight wear, not bad at all just a small line on the side we rub on when we get in, it lessened when I started using Meguiars leather cleaner / conditioner, all my other seats still look brand new.

I have 10k on my car

It is average. I have 20K miles and you can definately see signs of wear. Not much on the other seats because they seldom get used.

Similar to sincityIS, the edge of my seat has wrinkles (but my car has 40k miles)

but I've started conditioning the leather really well.

In my opinion, you should just plop into it comfortably. It's not worth it to have to be so careful about everything...Cars are made for some wear and tear =D

Those of you using leather cleaner, have the cracks come back worse once the cleaner wears off over time? Or does it actually seem hold it's effect?

It's wrinkly after 41k miles, but otherwise still smooth and soft.

I clean and condition the leather about once every three months.

Thanks for the reminder; she needs to be conditioned soon...

I use the Lexus conditioner regularly and besides being wrinkled a bit, the condition is still very very good.

i have wear... but not as noticble with black leather
but i can't complain being that it is my first car with leather seats... better than seeing random stains... etc... i use maguires and it seems to be a good protectant... i was concerned for about 10k about the waer and tear... but no... its par for the course as far as i am concerned.

After 1700 miles on my 08' I have very minor wear on front passenger seat. But all others look brand new. After using the conditioner it did ease up. By the way how often should you condition the leather seats?

Depends on the type of conditioner you're using, as well as the environment you are in. Sunlight and heat are enemies to leather. If your car is untinted and kept outdoors all the time in a hot environment, the leather will fade and deteriorate much quicker than a garage kept cool car.

I keep my car outside most of the time, so I try to condition maybe once every two to three months.

Also depends on the leather conditioner itself, but most are similar in that they offer some kind of UV protection and restore moisture and suppleness.

I use Zainos

I was very aware of this when I purchased the car new and still today I try to use the handle above my head to assist me from getting in and out of the car.

I'm at 13.5K with black interior and you can see some slight wear (lines) on the outer leather part of our seat, driver side only.

Leather wear is inevitable, especially if you drive everyday like most of us do. Best we can do is be gentle and keep conditioning!

The wear on seats don't bother me as much. What really bothers me is the leather steering wheel because I look at it everyday. It's slowly turning smooth and shiny @12500 miles. My new car is not so new anymore! It really irritates me to no end. It must be the OCD in me. It almost makes me want to not drive my car...almost

I have cashmere interior and I get a tiny peel on the front passenger seat tubing with 15k miles, thanks to my gf rubbing in and out with her belt... otherwise everything else is in perfect condition. If you have cashmere interior, you need to be very careful, never put any heavy or sharp things on your seats.
