I will let you guys know once I get the car.

The pics from Ice aren't bothersome in terms of how it looks. My concerns with that installation would be reception (bottom of the window would reveal more sky) and the tape coming loose, especially in the constant heat of summer following by winter cold.

Jr the only time i have any reception problems is tunnels or overpasses which is normal and it only cuts out for maybe a sec or two. As for the double sided tape i cant comment on that yet but i would hope they wouldnt put something that would fall off in the heat/cold but who knows

I wouldnt worry about it coming loose. I looked at the one on IceZ car and it was on there very sold. That double sided tape works good. I do agree to have it lower would offer better reception but it may not be needed. I still think the best thing is to tap into the XM antenna on the roof. Cut the wires and splice into it if need be

buy the parts yourself the sirius radio fit kit and all and shark fin antenna. comes to like $380. install it yourself. it's worth it. if you cant install it yourself ask a local video/audio dealer im sure they will do it for less then lexus would. it's not that bad to install. fluzz helped me now i can do it in less than 30min if the ac vents werent so hard to remove.

DIY or some other entity installing is not an option.

The only folks who are going to disassemble my dash are those at Lexus, lest anything go wrong or there is even a slight amount of peripheral damage.

For a few hundred dollars on a mid-$30K car, I'd rather have them accountable.

One advantage to XM I guess... easy plug-in install that doesn't even touch the dash. Not much help to anyone who wants Sirius specific content though unless they way speed up the merger stuff

Lets not forget those of us that have sirius and want XM content....well MLB mostly. They really need to speed up this merger.

Picked up the car last night and it's the same as Ice's installation.
In my limited driving so far, the drop outs seem to only be in the same places they are for my Starmate unit with antenna on the roof in my other cars. if that's the case, it doesn't bother me as you can barely see the thing on the window.

It's great, however, having it integrated into the car unit and into the steering wheel controls especially.

LOVE the car. AWD, Smoky Granite, black leather, prem pkg, rear lip spoiler, all weather mats, no nav (plan on getting a small Garmin - the one in my Honda Pilot is great and I couldn't justify the additional 2 grand).

Programmed the homelink and used the tips from this forum to unlock all 4 doors when I touch the driver's handle.
