Lexus needs to appeal more to the younger crowd with the IS and bring in some brighter colors like from previous gen. There should be younger colors that separate it from the other model line up especially the GS.

To me, Truffle Mica doesn't seem like a young persons color, by young I mean 20-35 yr olds. Why did Lexus abandon that yellow and med blue color from prev gen?

I think yellow wouldn't look too good on the 2IS, a nice blue would be alright though.

IMO the taillights are a tragedy, it looks like a cheap toyota with those. I BAUGHT A LEXUS, not a toyota.

You bought a dressed up Toyota rebadged with an L on the front and back of the car

When lit up i'd say they look more classy than the older taillights, maybe im crazy though

IMO the Sable Mica Metallic aka Truffle Mica should only be in the ES and LS and maybe in the GS. Doesn't look like it "fits" the target demographic for the IS.

Does anyone know based on past years when the new model info might show up on the Lexus US website? It's already up on the Canadian site, and the US site has 2009 info for the SC and the SUVs. I wonder what the hold-up is with info about the IS (and other sedans).

Might be the lighting, but in those pics, the front L emblem looks like it's black pearl rather than chrome. I only say that because the surrounding grill's chrome is entirely different.

A lot of people say the IS looks like a Scion, so it is what it is. The automobile speaks for itself, imo, with either set of tail lights. Probably, two people out of a thousand on the street would notice the tail light change.

Default 2009 Japan ISX50

I've just been browsing on Japan's Lexus website and looked at the 2009 IS. Although I don't like the front end bumper and tail light redesign, everything else looks good, eg wheels and turn signal side mirrors. But the things that really caught my eyes were the two tone seats and the BLACK WOOD!! Damn, too bad it'll be darn expensive...or else I would get myself a set of those.

That might be true if the IS chassis or platform was shared with the Toyota lineup, like the ES. It's not. It's completely unique to the Lexus lineup, and the only car the IS shares components with is the GS.

So guys who have already tested a 09 IS: anyone checked the navigation yet? Are all the navigation functions usable while driving for the 09 model?

Toyota brand doesn't offer RWD cars. RWD platform greatly different from FWD one.

Beside not feeling the tail lights, front bumper and grill, not sure I even like the air vents, they kinda look sad and druppy. The 2006-08 looked sharper.
