Yellow fog overlay help

Default Yellow fog overlay help

Well I got my car so time to put on some stuff. I order yellow fog overlays and red tailing overlays through Rvinly.

As I went to apply the yellow fogs I noticed there are tabs on each side?


How did everyone apply yours????

Take off front bumper?
does the black piece pop out beside the fog?
Cut the excess tabs off the vinyl shape?

Any tips would be great.

why the hell do you need to take off the front bumper, you don't need to take off anything. don't do that.mines didn't come w/ a tab. but i guess just cut it off. make sure u keep it moist then dry it up. it only took me 15 minutes for both real simple. you don't need any ratchet or screws.

Tab is there to hold onto while initially applying it to the lens. You can cut it off beforehand if you want, but it is not necessary. Once the overlay is applied just use a bit of stiff cardboard (or credit card) to push the tab between the lens and the bumper. No fuss, no muss. No need to remove anything.

the fogs are harder to apply then the red outs. But one thing I noticed about the fog overlay that its is very forgiving. You can pull and reapply. I actually messed mine up too many folds. I need to order some more.

The fogs are a bit harder to apply. Make sure you clean the fog lens with rubbing alcohol. The fog vinyl thata is the thicker "protective" film, is a bit trickier to instal.

would applying it wet help? heat gun?

I don't apply vinly too often and don't want to mess up

Applying it with a hair dryer/heat gun is smart, makes the vinyl more tacky and easier to manipulate.

One last thing, make sure the ambient temp is warm out.

Yes the Hair Dryer works perfect. I used it for the tails and the reflectors and it does work miracles. I havent had any issues with mine for some time now and it was the middle of winter when I put them on
