good stuff! another installation tip: you do NOT need to remove the entire mirror itself. If you move the mirror to the maximum position you can reach the screws behind the mirror to unscrew the cover. Move the mirror all the way and you'll be able to see which screws you need to remove.

But yes you definitely have to remove the entire mirror housing to run the wiring through the grommet/hole.

they are all the same no matter where you but them from! So if you search them on eBay you will find what you are looking for They will paint for you. I had them do mine for close to nothing so when they made it to my door I was able to slap them on. But you can paint them local at your shop also but I am sure you will spend more by going that direction.

You can also wait to see what the 09 looks like as I am sure that will be a readily available part coming up soon here. I am sure it will be more expensive but it should be another option.

Do it!!

Since i've been getting alotta PM's asking where to get these here is the lowdown:

Option 1:
Ebay vendor which offers paint services for an additional $50. Note the wait time is about 4-6 weeks if you opt for the painting service. If you opt to get them painted locally shipping will be sooner of course (about 2-3 weeks).

Option 2:
Our CL vendor Carson Lexus also has them in stock. Painting services would have to be done locally by yourself. Or you could contact Luis to arrange painting services at an additional fee (if they offer it).

Painting locally could range anywhere from $50-100.

I would buy from Carson, and get it painted locally. Since if you got it painted from eBay sometimes the color does not turn out as you like....just my .02

Can you post pic of how you remove the mirror again? If I recall I need to push the bottom of the mirror in all the way right or the other way around?

Yeah you push the mirror all the way and you'll be able to see the screws that need to be removed. Once the cover is loosened you need to remove the door panel to remove the bolts that hold the actual mirror cover housing to the door. You'll need an extension with a 10mm socket wrench to get to the bolts.

Checkout post 72 for the pic

I did the method of removing the entire mirror by using the flat screw insert in the back of the mirror. When you tilting the mirror up all the way, you will see the white plastic part.
