Anyone else feel like their Air Conditioner sucks on their 06-08 IS 250?

Hey 360, I have the same prob in my IS350. It seems not COLD but COOL on a hot day. My exterior color is white w/black leather. It is better during the evening but not as cold as my wife's RX350 which is very cold even during heat of the day.

I was just test driving the new '09 Nissan Maxima yesterday and that AC can keep beer cold even when it is 95 outside! And that had black leather and no window tint either.

I had my car in for oil change on Friday and asked to ck it out. They said it is within spec. I had an older IS300 and the same with that AC also, it was COOL but not what I would say is COLD.

Then again, I live in Houston where 95 degree summers are the norm. So it if you live in SoCal or some other cool climate, then I would say there might be something wrong with you AC.

I disagree with your conclusions and advice. As two pages of posts affirm, a properly operating A/C in the IS is ICE COLD, not cool. Those comments were not just from me in NJ (where it was 95 degrees and very humid with a heat index of 100 yesterday), but from several members in Texas, and even one in Saudi Arabia where the temperatures soar to over 120 degrees. I've had RX350s as service loaners, and the A/C in the IS is at least as good, if not better. Sorry your dealer is giving you excuses instead of fixing your A/C.

Let me end with this photo, taken by Xanadu350, who lives in Florida. As you can see, the ambient temperature at the time was 93 degrees, but the A/C discharge temperature reads 30 degrees. That's as good as A/C gets -- any colder and the condensate on the evaporator coil would ice up and block the airflow.

i notice everyone who likes the ac is from CA and TX where i think you guys have dry heat from what i hear im not 100% sure. 360 you from ny and im from ct. we have alot of humidity over here so our heat feels different. my ac have to blow on me when its over 90 and if i blow it away it gets warm again. i think its the northeast humidity. anything under 85 i can blow it away from me and im fine

I love the A/C and I'm in NJ, same humidity as NY and CT. When the humidity is brutal, I set the control to recirculate (so it doesn't automatically switch to outside air); the air in the vehicle dries out quickly and stays that way.

I just got my 08' IS 250 and I was just saying to a friend that it has to be the best AC I've ever had in a car, it's like a icebox. I live in So Cali and the color is dark (Smoky Granite Mica), and black leather seats.

My AC passed with flying colors the 114degF set this year. It was the highest temp set so far this year.

I know it is not just my car i have had two loaner IS 250's and its the same issue, unless the air conditioner is actually blowing on me its not cold, passengers have had the same complaint the car is never cold inside but the air that blows out is cold, on 90 degree and up days its uncomfortable to be in the car longer than a half hour or hour btw my car is flint mica, and the interior is black
