I'm being handed down an 06 Civic Ex coupe and I can't really stand the ride. I drove my friend's IS250 the other day and it was NICE... I've always wanted the IS350 and I think now is the time for one. I'm torn between these two choices:

1. used 06 IS350 with Nav, ~30k miles, most likely silver color for ~$30k

2. new 08 IS350 with Nav in SGM! for $39k


I'll most likely wait for the year end sale or the December to Remember event. How much of a discount can I expect with the DtR to bring? Hopefully I can get the 08 IS350 in SGM too since by then the 09s will have come out.

I would wait and another reason is the freshned 2009 IS will debut this fall, which means dealer will be EAGER to let 2008s go.

In general, the end of the year in December is one of the best times to buy.

Although your selection of colors and options will likely be limited.

Not sure they will have any 08 350's left in December... But the good news is you can get the new look 09.

Agreed... 2008's will be rare by December. And expect the price of the freshened 2009's to be tight for a bit. While it's not an all-new car, face-lifted models generally sell well early on and dealers hold prices higher. The very best deals are right now on the 2008's or the end of the 2010's when the new model starts to surface.

If you can hold out for a year, there'll be the same used selection anyways (maybe even better if the economy slumps further). Wait it out and see.

There could still be a bit of 08s come December. I bought my 07 last December and saved quite a bit. There were still 4 or 5 new 07 350s that I could choose from at that time. As mentioned already by others, you might not get the colour you want or the options but the price you save just might make it worth while. But yeah, depending on how the 09s look, you might want to get that instead.

Neither price seems to be particularly appealing in the current car-buying climate. While the 350 was holding its price better than the 250, why don't you test the waters and see what you can get a new 08 for right now (it's summer, sales are slow, the economy is down the toilet and - hello - gas crisis)!
