Leaded or Unleaded??
Hey all,
I have IS350 ,I might send my car back home.
Can I use the (Octane 83) leaded?
Can I use the (Octane 83) Unleaded?
These only the two types they have.
I know putting regluar gas (octane 87) here reduce the power and stuff, which i dunt care much about if i send it there. Will it be drivable over there using one of the above types?
Thanks

Well ...Leaded gas is not available in the States. It was phased out in the mid80's..for the use of catalytic converters on our cars..btw is why you should use unleaded gas or else its destroys the converter and for obvious heath reasons why US banned the use of lead in fuel. But I think you can still buy leaded gas in Mexico and maybe some parts of Eastern Europe and some 3rd world countries. Besides lead was used to aid in counter knock in combustion process....but we do have octaine increase that is more efficient then lead additives. Do some gas stations you know have lead or unleaded gas??? Does Bc still offer this choice??

No, you can NOT use leaded gas in the car. It will foul up the catalytic converter which in turn will confuse the h_ll out of the computer, which in turn will ruin the engine. Be advised, as stated above, that there are numerous ways to define "octane" (there ar two in the US, even). Speak to Lexus, tell them where you are taking your car, and ask them if suitable gas is available - they will know.
I see you are using nitrous in your car - I don't know what you want to achieve but nitrous and cheap gas aren't going to work very well for any intended application.
And, out of morbid curiosity, where are you taking the car?

DO NOT USE leaded fuel in your car. you may or may not want to use 83 octane unleaded of your country. that octane could be an equivalent of the US 87 or be as low as 79. It varies. You should call and check up on that beforehand.
