Default Was this a good deal on a LEASE

I saw the national ad which advertised the Lexus IS 250 AWD base model car for 359/month with 3495 down which inclued first months payment, bank fees, and 2500 down payment. Not including taxes.

Being someone who likes extras I added the HID/Premium package option and the rear spoiler. I added the tax upfront to the down payment (3495) and came up with leaving 4995 at signing which included everything above (1st month, bank fee etc...) and got the same price of 359/month with no tax.

Did I get swindled or is this a good deal? Thanks

To me it just sounds like a big down payment for a lease in general. I would rather pay abit more per month, then drop $5k on a lease down payment. Also, look in the contract for things like a payment at the end (I think its called Balloon Payment). Many leases do this, my MBenz has it, its around $500 so its not too bad, but something to take into account with leases.

I think you have a typo in your tax: 15,000 should be 1,500.

What exactly is this bank fee?

That's a maunufacturers cost.
You also have to add sales tax to that $359.
You can do better haggling.

When buying a car, always discuss the cost of the car and then financing. Don't fall into the monthly payment game negotiation. This is a common tack tick by the dealers.

That sounds like alot to put down on a lease. I got my 08 IS250 w/18 wheel package, NAV,HID's,AC seats, rear spoiler, and bluetooth for $658 down and $500 a month. The MSRP was $38,500 and I talked them down to $34,500. After misc fees the leased price was $35,050 for 3 years at 12,000 miles a year. I personally would rather pay $500 a month for 36 months than have to put down $5000 at first and pay $360 a month. But like someone else said if your happy with the car that's all that matters.

Well I haven't signed anything yet. To answer a couple of questions. There is no tax on the 359 I would of paid it all already. Its 36 month lease and the taxe was 1500 (those were typos). I think the MSRP was 37G and change. I could put down 3500 then just add tax to the 359 as my monthly payment but it's kind of the samething

i leased an 08 is250 rwd with no nave but hids, and 18 inch wheels, the basics... and i put 2K down and pay 375 a month. 36 months... 12K miles a year.

-its not the same as a awd... but gives you an idea of a good solid deal.

I guess that deal works out to the same. The AWD is about 5G more (base model) and when you work up the numbers with 2G down and 375/month x 36 you would of paid $15,500 for the 3 years. With my deal with 5g down and 359/month for 36 months is 18,000 for a difference of 3500 more I would pay over 3 years.

about the same when you factor in the 3 things I added, but ur deal seems sweet
