that is a nice lip. why did you need to put tape on the bumper and the lip area? Who did you get it from?

he only put the tape there as he was test fitting it to prevent scratching the paint. I had the same "F" lip and it fit like a glove. well worth the $$ and looks perfect on the IS.

^^ That is how I did mine also. The OP just test fit it to make sure it was all good. I never did that with mine and didnt have any issues. I actually had the MFG just paint it and ship it so I could slap it on when it hit my door. less time and work for me!

you are fine doing it that way or just have them paint if, so long they will offer that to you.

Bumping an ancient thread. Now that you've probably moved on to greater and better things. May I ask where did you get the rep. Fabulous lip? I still have my 07. Only thing on ebay is a carbon fiber rip for 2 fiddy.

they should be all over ebay now but in polyurethane instead of fiberglass. My fiberglass held up for ten years but i also clear bra it after paint. Fiberglass and paint don’t hold up well on lips.

True! There are no fabulous replicas on ebay, only carbon fiber rep. Sellers put a pic of the fab rep on a car, then a pic of the actual product. If you look close, you can tell it isn't a fabulous style lip. They most likely copied a picture of it from google.

I might just buy the carbon fiber replica and paint it.

Lol , I actually have that link saved for the last few months so I know where to buy one. I’m still surprised that I haven’t cracked mine yet.

My cracked fiberglass Fabulous rep is sitting in my back yard was going to post it for free pick in FL if I ever get around to it. I'm sure someone with the time and skill can fix the fiberglass back to normal.
