All in all it went very well! I was surprised how receptive they were to our ideas and how much they really cared about what we had to say.

Here's a few highlights:
  • I asked about the unlevel ride height and the chief engineer wasn't even aware this was a case. I actually had to take him outside and show him my car. He couldnt really give me an answer why.
  • We all really pushed for the advanced TPM system and real iPod integration. They were unaware that the iPod was so widely used here and important, so I'd look out for that.
  • They gauged the interest for either a diesel or hybrid model, I'd say if anything a hybrid model would be coming soon possibly.
  • Coupe and convertible seemed to still be an idea with no real plans for production yet.
  • I'd also say look out for possibly a more "sporty package" for the 350. Think X package with more performance in mind rather than looks.
  • It almost sounds like a few goodies and styling cues from the IS F may trickle down the model lineup.

Oh and just to let you know, they are VERY AWARE of this forum and ARE watching

Here's me with the chief engineer:

What do you mean by "real iPod integration," beyond what the available kit already provides?

So an '09 or '10 coupe/convertible is out of the question?

Interesting they don't see the need for LSD?

And yet the IS250 does without them?

And which are extra? DI works on the IS250.

More insulation, I want it quiet!

Better paint!

Get rid of the bottom spoke in the steering wheel, I like to cruise on the highway with my hand there.

Come from the factory with a little lower stance, and adjustable cambers.

Better looking exhaust tips, I don't want to see the steel pipe inside.

No amber in the tails.

TOP 5 MOST IMPORTANT CHANGES:

-Adjustable/more supportive side bolsters. For a sports sedan, the IS just doesn't have seats that are snug enough.

-TPS system that shows individual tire pressures. Most cars have had this for years... how does the IS not?

-Fold-down rear seats. It's so important for so many people!

-Auto-scrolling text for the CD player. Reading only half of the names of songs is so pathetic.

-Cooled seats that actually cool the seats, and heated seats that heat better.

You seem to have those already. But here are a few others:

-Hydrolic trunk. I'm surprised the IS, being a Lexus, doesn't have this, as many ecnonomy cars do.

-Standard HID.

-Piano-black wood trim option.

-The auto-volume function for the stereo that supposedly lowers and raises the volume relative to the speed of the car... it's such a non-factor, I sometimes wonder if it even works. I was in a Ford Focus once that had an amazing sensor. The IS needs one at least equal to that.

-Repositioning of the driver and front passenger door's tweeter speakers. They're too prone to water damage sitting unprotected there.

EDIT: Oh. You already had the meeting. Bummer. Any word on better side bolsters?

And the 250 makes 102 less horsepower and has like 30% less displacement. Apples to oranges.

The extra injectors on the 350 are a big part of -why- it can make all that extra power -without- getting proportionally worse mileage with proportionally higher emissions than the 250.
