Default IS250 A/C question

Is it just me or is the A/C in this car under equipt to handle 105 outside? It took me 10 minutes at 60mph to cool the car down to a comfortable temp. My Tahoe would cool down in half that and it's twice as large but does have front and rear air. Do other notice the A/C being under equipt to handle these temps?

I haven't had much trouble with mine and I'm dealing with the same temps you are right now.

there are some ways to get the hot air of the car faster. try tilting the moon roof and rolling down the windows.

is possible, I suggest opening the car door and maybe turning on the A/C for 2-3 minutes before you start driving. It makes a world of difference.

My 250 seemed to take forever to cool down. I figured it was the black interior. It is possible the compressor is smaller than the 350? Other members have commented on the 250 lack of cooling.

does the 250 really lack cooling?? i think i would have to agree i guess?? i leave my A/C blasting on for a good 15 mins of driving till it starts getting chilly. then i turn it back up to 72.. i'm thinking of getting my front windshield tinted cause its damn hot when the sun shines on me with my temp set at 74

I would only go 6 inches from the top for windshield tint for safety reasons. Perhaps a cool sunshade may help?

That's exactly what I'm talking about. I've found that turning it on manual and setting the temp to LO and the fan to what ever level makes it confortable works the best. As the car cools I turn the fan down but leave the temp on LO. When the temps outside come down then I can go back to AUTO but for now when I'm only going to be in the car for 15 or 20 minutes I'll stick to manual.

my sunshade makes a world of difference as does tint here in florida. the windows down for a bit is also a must if it's really bad.

No problems with my 2008, although I don't often find myself in 100+ degree weather in MD thate often. The a/c is way better in my IS then it is in my GX. Cools down faster and blows colder. Use the keyless feature to roll down your windows and crack the sunroof to let the bulk of the heat out before getting in and I think you will find your car cools off faster.

I'm in MD as well and see no issues with my A/C. I did replace my cabin air filter a few weeks ago at 26k and the air blows better and smells cleaner.
