cracked front windshield.. dealership?
Have a crack across my windshield, my isurance deductible is $250, so I was wondering if I should have the dealership install new Lexus Glass or have a Glass company do it? My insurance wants a glass company do come out and intstall it.. what should I do?
Anyone else have this happen?
Thanks!

They should replace it with the lexus glass... Im not sure which insurance you use, but some insurance companys replace it without the deductable. I know Geico did for one of my parents cars. No deductable and the oem glass too... Good luck.

Thanks! I did notice that all my glass has Lexus stamped on it and I want the same glass, I'll try and fight this tomorrow with Geico. The Autoglass company was going to use aftermarket glass.

I had mine replaced too by safelite. They had to replace it with OEM lexus glass because at the time the only way they can get a weather seal around the top part of the glass was to order an OEM glass. If it is safelite you should be ok because they have to guaranty there work for a lifetime via my AAA insurance.

I just had my windshield replaced by Safelite a couple months ago and it was $289.00 without the rain sensor. I can't tell ANY difference at all! Safelite is a very good company, and I have had no problems at all with seals or noise.
The guy that came out and replaced it said that the Lexus windshield is not made by Lexus, it was made by some company that started with an "L". He pointed it out to me on the windshield right below where the Lexus tag was.
