Default anti-holes!!!!!

i hate how we get tickets for not having a front license plate!!!! But its the law!!! Anyways i hate how we have to drill holes, it messes up our bumper! well i thought of an idea what if i use double side tape and tape on my license plate hmmm that might take off paint in the long run! so i had a $10 mod magnets and glue and bam it works!!!!! and not more holes for me. I just put it on when i am parked and when i drive i take it off

Now you see it!!!

Default be careful

i've got a ticket couple months ago, from what i've heard that if you take it for inspection they'll come out and check if the license plate are bolt on front of the bumper...alot of CL members suggested the L bracket, but you still have to drill a hole underneath the bumper...I just ask for an extension at the court, so i have till OCT this year to fix my ticket...The clerk said that if you dont want to fix it, its $125... so $10 with inspection OR $125....but i like your magent idea.. where did you get it?

If you're lucky they believe that story but some cops are picky. They check to see if you already have holes in it. If you don't, they will issue you a fix it ticket, otherwise have your license plate handy in your trunk or somewhere and show them that you will get it put on. It works for me

I was thinking you could just use a couple cable ties and hook it to the honeycomb grill at the bottom of the bumper. Once the cop signs off, pull over to the nearest gas station and cut it off.

Interesting idea though I wouldn't do it myself.

But I don't think magnets qualify as "securely fastened".
The California vehicle code says for Positioning of Plates 5201:
License plates shall at all times be securely fastened to the vehicle for which they are issued...

So it wouldn't pass a visual inspection if they look closely. Maybe put a couple of dummy bolt heads over the license plate holes would help fool people, maybe also add the dealer license plate frame for further camouflage.

who cares if you drill holes in there or glue it on or use magnets. With the plate on you don't see the damn holes anyway. Granted the car looks much better with no plates as do most sports cars but the law says you have to have it so what's the big deal if you drill holes? You must be a blonde lol
