Default Help ... any threads to show rear gfx kit install w/ just tape?

Yup here's another thread on gfx kits. Well, I was planning to get the rear gfx kit for the rear bumper. I know this part requires the drilling but I also know that some here have also used the tape method only. I have searched but can not find any threads about how to use only the tape method. Are there any DIYs with that? Also, which and where to get the tape? Are there any cons to using the tape method besides possible loss of kit on the highway somewhere ? hah that itself should be the main con right.. anyways ... can anybody help? thanks

Thanks for the heads up. I could have sworn someone did it for the 2IS. I thought I had mistaken it for people with the 1IS with their kits. I'll give the search another shot.

I installed it without anything more than the supplied 3M double sided tape. You cant even pull it off easily.

So all you used was the tape supplied and nothing else, eh? Did you just snap off the tabs? How long have to had it on? Not quite sure where you are located but does the hot weather affect the adhesion/movement of the rear bumper kit? Did you have to cut the bumper for exhaust opening? Do you have any pictures? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks

haha .. I said sorry for all the questions. I just need some experience because I'm not sure if I should just sell it or drill it. If I can get some feedback on the tape only method ... I'll feel better.

I think i added a few strips of my own 3M tape, but not much. I snapped off all the metal tabs and screws. I've had it on for about 6 months now. I'm located in Canada, but it has been really hot lately, around ~30C. Its practically settled in and doesnt move at all. I did not cut the opening for the exhaust, and it is not required even if you drill holes. I dont have pictures but honestly u cant tell. fitment is perfect.

The easiest to put it on i foudn was to rest the lip on the original box it shipped in and slowly slip the lip on. that way if you get one side fitted perfectly, the other side wont fall off while you are test fitting it.
