IMO the blue onyx is more blue in the sunlight and the BSP is more black at night. I bought my in the late evening in the winter time and thought it was a great blue. The next morning all i saw was black until you get up close too it.

All Black Sapphire Pearl is a bit different, some times under direct light, they have a little bit of purple hue



Most of the time its a nice dark blue with the same wet reflection look

i dun think it is a big difference....very very similar...in a quick glance, you can't differentiate it IMO...

anyway here is my sample (BLue Onyx Pearl):

As others have said, BOP has more blue to it, and reflects sunlight with a different flake than the BSP. To me, BSP appears darker and less metal flake.

ffpower's LAST TWO pics are more of a typical BOP versus the first 3, which appear more purple. Also, when the light hits it, BOP sometimes reflects with a little green even.

Heck, you can see the different in paint looking at my sig pic versus my avatar.

But, with all said, I've had quite a few people ask me if my car was black.

worddddd me too -- i'm not sure what type of light brings out the purple hue in Blue Onyx Pearl, but i rolled through a gas station the other night at like 11pm (so it was very dark out) and the lights from the top of the gas station realllly made the car look purple, i was surprised i had never seen it like that before

my bsp does the purple thing too but on cloudy days. depending on what angle you are it it comes up silver in the sun.

lol i've had my car for a year and a half and my uncle just found out my car is blue. not black roflmao

but then again . . . he eats dinner with his family every night and never noticed my cousin dyed her hair yellow for about 3 months either . . .

he just looked up one day and said, " WTFFFF?????????????????????????????????"

The IS350 is the wifey's car, she had an '07 on order and cancelled it, I'm not making this up, and had them find her a less but comparably equipped '06 b/c she liked the BOP but not the '07 color!

She's an artist so she has an eye for color, me, I wanted the headlights that move. ;-)

The sales guy was cool about it--I guess we should expect that, though.

Haven't posted in a long time and guess the SIG says it all!

I tried to get a rear GFX lip for my '06 and after looking at pics on the website, thought Blue Onyx was the same as Black Sapphire. Come to find out they are 2 different color codes and will not match.
