I'm thinking of doing these, but how do I remove the stock emblems and go on to put on new ones? Is this a hard mod to do it clean?

i did it...as a numb painter it was hard as hell, u have to take the emblems off which is a hassle, then you have to wet sand with 1000 grit paper, then u have to apply the paint, let it dry then apply another coat, let that dry and keep doin that and hope that u dont scratch the emblems, otherwise, u gotta wet sand again and start the whole process again, then once u got a good 3 to 4 coats of paint u have to let it dry all the way then apply a coat of clear coat, let it dry, then another coat of clear coat, and in the process u better hope no debree gets on ur emblems otherwise start wet sanding again...PRETTY MUCH it took me almost 3 days to get them perfect, but in the end it was all worth the time, and have gotten soo many complements. check it out

To remove, use the supplied plastic wedge-shaped emblem tool remover.

Emblems are self-adhesive and mount easily with mounting points.

But of the "ISx50" the I, x, & 0 do NOT have mounting points and therefore require and steady hand and critical eye. A straight edge helps too.

The key to re-mounting your emblems is making yourself a template before you take them off...

Nice template Javier.. I was thinking of doing that when I install the emblems b/c I don't want them to look crooked..

just use a credit card or library card to take off the emblems. or some people use floss. i think library card works the best.

Hmmm... the template for the "LEXUS" lettering and the "L" logo seems unnecessary, isn't it? For those, I'd think they'd be lined up perfectly so long as you used the holes that are in the surface.

^That wasn't a template - it was protection for when I removed the original emblems. It just so happened that it worked perfectly as a template as well.

Just wondering if I have smokey granite, will the emblem blend in the car? Because in some pictures I saw, it looks almost camo.

You will most likely not see the emblems far away. Up close maybe, far..nope.

I received my Black Pearl emblems from Sewell yesterday. One problem I noticed is that the L emblems have fine scratches on the flat surfaces and scuff marks on the edges. It is noticeable only in direct light with the emblems in your face. The word "Lexus" and "IS350" badges seem to be pretty good and without any scratches.

Anyone else have the same problem with Sewell Black Pearl badges?

Mine came today with very fine scratches, but only if youstare at it closely. What's the best way to remove? Floss method? heat gun?
