Performance Tires and Unpaved Roads
A friend has offered a house for a few days on a lake but it requires a 1.5 mile drive up an unpaved road. Since it is in No CA, unlikely will be any rain (mud) this time of year but am wondering how the IS with perf tires does on unpaved roads? Comments?? Thanks

I assume you'll be driving pretty conservatively at around 10-15 mph. Even with light rain or light mud (~1-2") on gravel, there should not be any traction problems with summer tires.
I'd be more concerned with rock chips on the sides and rear of the car. Those wide tires kick up a lot of dirt. Also, be concerned about ground clearance. Most of the time, on unpaved roads, there's very poor ground clearance, lots of indentations in the road, and other things that would rake the bottom of the front bumper and the bottom of your car.
