hello

ive searched around here and myis and cant find anything on this topic.

all i find are ISx50's with navi and with ML...but no hacks for the navi w/o ML


well my situation is this....

i have an 08 IS250 with navi w/o ML and im wanting to watch DVD's on the navi screen. like pop DVDs in and not watch it from an iPod.


what all do i need to be able to accomplish this?


i know i am needing an external dvd player.

the plug n play kit from prestigious society??

what else i would need?

You would like to watch DVDs on the OEM Nav screen?

It's probably easier and cheaper to get an aftermarket screen installed. Lots of members have done that option instead...

you can probably tap into the backup camera and bypass it to watch videos from an external source. someone here did it. he created a switch and composite plug for the video feed.

that kit you will need an ipod for it to work not an external dvd player

just remember that if u do get aftermarket do not take out the oem nav as that controls ur AC/nav/bluetooth. i seen someone add aftermarket right on top of the ashtray.

not trying to go aftermarket otherwise i wouldnt have gotten the navi!

That's not going be easy to accomplish. I wouldn't recommend it if your car is still in warranty. It sure would void it, at least for the nav and stereo components.

just read real carefully on the thread posted by CAIFAN 64 someone with a non ml has confirmed workin. i'll pm him and see.

he hasn't pm me back but im sure it should work. the only thing is that i heard the auxillary port will become mono if u plan to use it. like i said i dont know if its true but i heard it somewhere before.
