Default New IS owner with a few questions

My new IS250 awd is awefully stiff and bouncy. I can feel every little bump on the road, is this normal or is it just my car? Also, i hear alot of wind noise from below the car, is this normal?

im guessing u have the stock dunlop runflat tires. upgrade to better tires or go back to the dealership and complain and maybe they get u a better brand of tires. but to answer ur question i have the same problem and the service rep said it is because of the dunlop runflats that the ride feels like a harsh SUV ride.

I don't think stock tires are runflats. But if it is, they definitely will be the primary cause of the stiff ride.

Also, you have to consider that the 2IS rides sportily. The suspension and ride feel will be stiffer moreso than other Lexus models.

And wind noise below the car? Doesn't sound normal. Where exactly do you hear the source?

Stiff and Bouncy? not sure how it could be STIFF and BOUNCY. Arent those the opposite of each other?

I thought my AWD was pretty smooth when i had my original springs. Then again i still think its pretty smooth with my S-tech's so i may not be the best person to ask about the ride.

Wind noise i really dont know what you mean if my windows are closed its QUIET in there.

For what it's worth my sis and I both have 07 250 AWD and we have 2 different tires and neither are runflats. I think the issue is just getting used to the sporty ride of the car.
My car came with Bridgestone Potenzas and hers a Dunlop tire.

Runflats? Never heard of that on an IS. I don't think that is the case.

Check the tire pressure, if they are overinflated they will give a stiff bouncy ride.

Dunlop Sport Max's are not a terrible tire. They are a bit noisy, but the performance isn't that bad.

i did a comparison with my car and one of my coworkers. we both have AWD except her is an 07. Her is actually a smoother ride compared to mines. I check my tire pressure everyday so thats not the case. The tires I have are Dunlop SP Sports 5000. Also when I take my car in for service I notice that the loaner was AWD and it rides a lil smoother then mines but that had the bridgestone tires. I know our suspension is sporty but for some reason my car rides a bit more harsh like it was meant for offroading. I'm use to it now since its been 2 years but people that get in my car complain about it. Well the tech rep told me they were runflats. I'm gettin new tires so i'll post if the ride is smoother then the stock dunlops.

sp sports 5000 are runflats, and they are junk check the rating on tirerack...mine went at 22K and i do mostly higway they were worn to the core and had the worst wet performance and handling. i now has kumho's that were less expensive and perform alot better, less road noise and better handling.
