I dont know what is going on but about every 3 weeks my navigation screws up and thinks im somwhere im not. sometimes it puts me in the ocean, sometimes just out in the middle of nowhere but it usually about a mile off but sometimes more!! i always have to re position it.
i have a hack disc in there for the bypass, i have an 07, and im wodering if that could be the problem. i dont think it can, it seems like an antenna issue but i was wondering if anyone had the same problem.

There is a TSB on th Nav location issue. Not sure why you would think a hack disk would be causing the problem. Seems to me it would be the first thing to check out. Highly doubtful Lexus would warranty it since it isn't a Lexus disc anymore.

there's a calibration button somewhere in the navi settings. you can try that to get it recalibrated and see if it still happens. if it does head out to the dealer and get that fixed

I'll bet that if you put your original map DVD back in, the problem will go away. Your hybrid disc was probably made with the version of the '06 firmware that is subject to the TSIB -- it has problems locking the GPS satellites.

I have a hacked disc and it works fine all the time. I've never intentionally reloaded my firmware as a practice, only to change functionality.
What you need to check is the firmware version. It should be 1600. If it is 1550, it is missing the fix Bichon mentioned in his post. My car came with 1600 firmware, so I've been able to keep my override function without the weird GPS signal issues.
I did try the latest firmware version with the automatic "I agree" but there were too many times the wife wanted to put an address in the nav while we were moving, so I went back to the hacked version.

I have the hack disc and it has been fine for about a year and just last weekend it went WAY off. Then after driving about an hour it was back on course. If it happens again I will reload the disc. If it happens again I will put the OEM disc back!

Same thing happened to my '06 last year; sometimes I was a mile off, sometimes 50 miles off. Took it in and they replaced the disc under warranty. I had the stock dvd. It's not an antennae issue.
