Question: can i upgrade to 6000k HiDs when i already have the stock HiDs?
ok so i have stock HiDs with AFS for my 2008 lexus iS250AWD and i was thinking on changing my bulbs to a set of 6000k HiDs but i am hesitant to do so because i was told not to do it because if i do, it will mess something up... i think the ballast, i forget
but anyways, i already have stock HiDs with AFS, that adaptive option which allows my lights to turn as the steering wheel turns at a speed of 30mph or greater and i was wanted your opinions on whether or not it is completely safe to change my stock HiD bulbs to aftermarket 6000k HiD bulbs. Please let me know and thanks for your help in advance

Okay before I go into detail let me say that changing the bulbs to 35W 6000k D4S bulbs will NOT damage anything unless the bulbs are severely poorly made or are fakes (for example rebased D2 bulbs).
What people tell you is going with aftermarket HID kits. With these ballasts they're running on stock wiring that powers 55W halogen bulbs. HID's require only 35W but on the initial start up they require more than 55W of electricity to ignite the bulbs. It's within that instant that aftermarket ballasts and wiring could theoretically go wrong (though in most cases they don't). With stock HID's, the bulbs wiring and ballasts have already been designed to handle the 35W bulbs plus the initial startup so putting in new bulbs will be perfectly fine!
So yes! You can get 6000k HID's for your car. Just make sure you get D4S bulbs (D4C works too but do not get D4R's). They'll all work but D4R's have a ceramic cover so your light pattern will be messed up. You can check with our vendor xenondepot to get a great deal. Check the market place for a discount code. The bulbs are pretty expensive as D4 bulbs are new, mercury free and not as readily available. Xenondepot's prices are relatively high compared to other sellers but they offer GREAT service and a nice color to the bulbs good luck!
