yo Thien,,sorry to hear that..
on the other side,,I'm glad that you are ok bro!
have your bodyshop color match your GFX kit when they paint your rear bumper, and it's gonna be just like a brand new!
I hope everything goes well and gets done for EOS

Thank you everyone, I really appreciate it. My accident looks like child's play after seeing what happened to is350matic. I wish him the best.

Vik/Brian, thanks for the suggestion. I certain will entertain this idea. I wanna see how much the shop would charge for install since I know I can do it myself.

Hey Kenny, thanks man. I think the rear kit would look really nice with some tanabe exhausts tips, don't you think so??

Thanks Pisaykotik.

Yea, I called my dealership and I turns out they have a contract with Car West Autobody. They have a lil office at the dealership, but their shop is off-site. He inspected the damage and gave me a price quote of ~$1,300 for a new bumper, painted, and the labor. He said there are possible hidden damages. Behind our bumper, there is sort of a foam absorber ($61) and behind that there is some aluminum reinforcement ($280). I'm glad I'm not paying the bill.

Since my dealership carries the bumpers in stock, the shop can get it the next day and he said it could be as fast as 2-3 day or up to 5 days to finish my car.

Looks like there is a good chance I can have my car ready for EOS.

Hey that's good news. EOS is still a few weeks away, you can even do more mods after the bumper is fixed.

It's all good. I know you were still feeling them out with your new mid-pipe.

Any chance you're getting a new exhaust system within 3 weeks?

$1,300 seems a bit high for the bumper and repaint. I had to get my front bumper replaced and repainted, and it was only ~$750. Don't know if the rear bumper part is more expensive, but I don't think it would be that much more expensive. If your insurance is paying for it, then I wouldn't worry about it, but otherwise, you might wanna run it by another body shop.

Lexus has a pretty good parts system, so even if you went with a body shop that didn't have a contract with the dealer, they could get the bumper in next day.

As of today, my IS is officially in the body shop for a new bumper. Turns out my insurance gets a discount with the shop so the repairs, pending internal damage, came out to ~$750.

I miss my car already but I should get it back in 2-3 days. Meanwhile, I can enjoy the efficiency of a hybrid loaner.

Hope it turns out great, good thing your car isn't GFM or else it'll be tough to paint match.

^^Yea, me too. I had my mirror covers painted by a body shop and they came out pretty good. But as far as paint matching goes, imperfections to the rear bumper would be more noticable than the mirror covers. We'll see the results soon hopefully.
