No, do not cut those off. Just rip off the metal mounting tabs (they're held on double sided tape) and shave the pointy alignment nub on the upper middle portion of the inner lip. Basically you will be removing the mounting parts that are meant to penetrate the bumper. Those tabs you circled sit against the bumper so no don't cut them off.

Here's my thought on it...if the metal mounting tabs are held onto the lip with 3m tape...whats the difference if you just attach the lip with 3m tape? Your bond is only as strong as your weakest link right? If the 3m is going to fail it's going to fail no matter what it's application method is.

this is kind of a late post in that i installed my rear lip several weeks via this method. It works fine. it was a little trickier than the cut method i did on my 2010 obsidian, IMO the cut method fit better of course but this way is much easier and reversible. im pleased.

this WAS my 2010 obsidian i did the cut method on vs. my 2011 tungsten no cut method.

for the back... CUT IT OUT!!!!

You'll have problems in the exhaust outlet. it will not fit right. try it and you will see!

plus. when you do it this way, i don't think you have any way to mount it. so a very big risk it'll fall off!!!

^^ It does fit if you squeeze the GFX lip exhaust cutout and push it in. It's only slightly bigger.

3M automotive black tape is awesome and actually gets stronger over time making it impossible to even take it off without damaging the paint.

Yea, 3M double sided tape is the shiznit. I love this stuff so much I bought 36 yards x 0.6" of 3M VHB tape for $27 shipped (eBay). VHB (Very High Bond) is crazy strong. I installed my rear lip and my roof spoiler and haven't even used up half.

^ someone mentioned above about squeezing the GFX lip exhaust area so it fits into the stock exhaust area, I think I will try that this week.

Hmm... What exactly happened that made you super depressed? Did it not go on correctly or did you make a mistake on something?
