Default Question on wheel on 06 IS250 AWD

Hi, I just heard that AWD has to use the same size wheel and tire all around, is it true? if so, Im using 8.5 for the front and 9.5 for the rear, the tire is 225/35/19 and 255/35/19. so now what can i do? anyway to fix it in cheaper way? and what will happen if i don't fix it?
thank you

The tire width is not as important of the overall diameter of the wheel. You can use the information from a website like tirerack.com to calculate the exact wheel diameters based on the rim size plus the tire sidewall thickness.

I think you may still have a problem as you have 225/35 (F) and 255/35 (R) but you need to do the math to know for sure.

A lot of the concern stems from the cars stability control systems and its expectation for the tire size.

you can use these staggered rims

just make sure your tire size, rotational diameter is as close as you can get it front to rear! you should be able to get within ~ 1% tolerance and no tire is exactly ever the same including what is on your car OEM. Trust me you will be safe! Many on here are doing it and many have done this on AWD cars for years.

Discount Tire or Tire Rack should be able to help you out. If not use one of the vendors on here for advice.

as slim as possible for that rim? to match the front?

i will go to the shop that i went to and ask them if i can exchange it- -because they told me to get this off set and they knew i have an AWD..
hopefully..they will exchange it for me- -"...if not..i guess..i need to buy it on my own- -..and that is gonna hurt...because my tire are only 1 month old..
