Default Front grill Bezel paint Black or SGM?

I am going to either paint or order a new front bezel for my is350 grill from sewell and need your opinion. I have black pearl emblems now and wondering what color to paint the front bezel because I do not like the chrome look. The color of my car is SGM so should I paint the bezel the same color as my car? Or should I get it painted black to match my emblems? I am leaning towards black. What do you guys think?

Looks nice! I think I will go with black as well.

Was it difficult to take off the front bezel?

I think black looks great on our SGM cars. Here's mine after 4 coats of primer, 6 coats of paint, and 4 coats of clear coat. $20 in parts. Very easy to do, just drying time is a pain.

nice look of the glossy finish!

i started out with a glossy finish (put clear coat on matte paint) but i liked the flat better for some odd reason.

Glossy black finish with the black pearl emblems would look the best IMO. That said, since I'm lazy I'll just get the color-matched from Sewell.

did you paint the grille around the emblem aswell? or thats the color it is stock?

I took mine out 3 months ago and cant remember what color it is stock, i have a black is250. Im gonna paint my bezel black cus as you can see its silver... and im gonna put original grille back in and see how that looks, prolly just like the pic from above.

But did you paint the grille minus emblem?

Leo,

I'm not if you were directing this question to me or not, but I just painted the bezel only. The vertical "slats" are stock.

yea sorry forgot to quote... yea i been looking so much on this forum that i dont remember what the stock looks like... some people paint theirs, some switch it... just wanted to make sure. I like how yours looks alot. But then i like how mine looks now, and i will like it alot when i paint the bezel...its so damn hard to decide what i really want it to look like! Maybe i will just have 2 diferent grille + bezel 's and i will just switch them once every 6 months LOL

Yeah, I hear ya man. I'm really happy with the way it turned out. Makes the front a bit more aggressive and a subtle. With just keeping the logo chrome, i think it blends well with the rest of the chrome on the car (i.e. window trim, and rear badges).
