That was not the picture i was looking for but OK.
If i am determined to get a fix, i would definitely consider a GFX lip. Like pretty much most people have confirmed it would cover it judging by the location of the scratch to the body line.
For the body line, please see this picture you took.
if you do not know which body line i am talking about, look for the yellow line. The yellow line should be the body line.
Several things we have learned is that the edge of the GFX lip does meet or possibly cover the body line. Assuming the scratch is right below the body line, the GFX lip would cover it.

Another question. This may sound like a dumb idea by most people's standard, but I thought I'll throw it in anyway. If I can find a starfire pearl GFX front lip (is that the correct name? ), how much of a color difference we're talking about? Honestly, I have yet to compare both the starfire and crystal white side by side to see the differences.....but those darn Lexus guys wouldn't allow my car to come close to the starfire in the lot. Perhaps they think I might sideswipe it. You know the old saying about women drivers. Anyhow, anyone with pictures of both for comparison? A side by side of both in one picture would work better.
On the other hand, I'm not opposed to a GFX front lip of a constrasting color, like black, for example. At least this way, if I ever scrape my side bumper again, then I don't have to worry about having the black plastic showing through 'cuz the scrape would blend in with the black lip. Tho I have no plans on scraping my car again.......consider myself not a bad driver since after more than 2 years, this is my first scrape. Also, it will make my IS more distinguished. Would love to hear your thoughts.

getting the GFX lip will be the most cost effective method. There are two options off the top of my head. Purchase a GFX lip in crystal white or Starfire pearl close to full price (300.00) hopefully you can find one from the stealerships or wait until Sewell has the GFX sale coming up next month in october or november and buy the lip for 65 bucks and they can have it painted for an additional 150 or take it somewhere to have it painted for 100-150. Total cost, 200-300 dollars. The GFX lip will definitely cover the scratch.

possible part out?
Ideally, if you would consider, Crystal White 062 would be the color of choice. Otherwise, starfire pearl 077 would be a good candidate for repaint. The one in this thread is GFM 074, same color of mine.
on my 2GS, the white is crystal white 062. From my observation of the touch up paint from Lexus, 074 and 062 both share a base white color of white 040.
Painting from 074 to 062 would also be OK as well... since both have base 040 color.

According to this thread, this member from Socal stated that white GFX kits are heavily discounted... somewhere near Sewell? Check it out!
