Only the Turn Signals & the Reverse Light use actual Bulbs...
on all IS tail lights from 2006 - 2009
The rest are ALL LED's... same applies to the IS-F...

It just seems like they "ES-ed" the whole thing. Taillight shape, wood shift ****, extra chrome bits, and even the sunroof controls off an ES. Took a little bit of the sporty looks out.
Of course I'm biased since I have an 07, but basically the only thing I can unequivocally give them thumbs up on would the mechanical/software updates. Style wise, I think they kinda dropped the ball. The only thing I like without reservation is the new front bumper.

Well for those who have fallen in love with their -07 IS models, more power to them! For those who haven't gotten into an IS yet, the revisions may be worth looking at. I myself have yet to see the vehicle in person, aside from the rims (I liked the -07 multispoke ones) and the interior updates (the changes look promising) I think it does not change the overall package too much. Why mess with success? These updates seem to have moved forward the design a bit, hopefully they will mesh nicely with the forthcoming IS cabrio...and please bring out an IS coupe!!!

I don't know if I agree with this.
I'd argue that Lexus didn't move the design forward, so much as they seemed to go in a different direction. The 2IS, when it came out, was trying to be a sport sedan. But with many of the 2009 changes, it's becoming less and less "sport." And with some changes, like the sunroof dial change, they seem like they're cutting corners.
I agree that people who don't already own a 2IS should definitely take a look at the 2009. But I would also say that if they can find a good deal on a 2008, they should take it, hands down, rather than getting the 2009.

^ me neither really...
I kind of like the front end on the 09 -- the tail lights I could do without, but hopefully a little red vinyl overlay on the amber will help the look...a bit.
The new wheels I can't stand, but I'd be changing those wheels anyway so it doesn't matter.
I'm just really curious to see the ground effects kit in person on the 09....
