you can still get the plastic grey trim so the wood is technically an option (though some dealers only carry cars with wood where plastic requires a special order).

and i think the question is, how much would it cost to convert your 09 into an 06-08 interior ;p

Correct. The "Sport" package will still have the painted silver/gray trim along with the base model.

The pricing should be very similar to go back or forth.

I just traded the IS for the GS and it seems to "fit" better....I am not so sure I am sold on the wood but its on the steering wheel and I agree with Joe that it makes more sense in the GS or LS.
