You have to love OEM parts pricing, this does not surprise me one bit. Car manufacturers make a ton on parts let alone the dealers mark-up and the instal prices for those that don't DIY.

Hmmm, its actually 7. and probably 3K+, since you need new switches.

Carbon Fiber is not expensive. I don't know why everyone thinks it is. Manufacturing it is time consuming and if you are determined to do it and are willing to spend the time to do it. You will be very pleased with the results.

Carbon fiber runs $35/yard ^2. The resin you'll need with the black pigment will run you $80. The rest of it is time and labor. I plan on overlaying my sport pack interior in CF someday and I'll have a thread to show everyone how its done.

If you want to figure out how its done and check out several others who have done so checkout www.racingcomposites.net

For the money they charge for the dark wood, I don't think its worth it if you're converting it. You'll need new switches. Switches that are positioned the wrong ways. Lock switches should be north-south orientation not east-west.

I purposely bought the sterling interior with the sport pack so I can overlay the trim in CF. There will be other items that will also be oevrlayed at the same time.

BTW, the IS-F trim in NOT CF. Its silver stained fiberglass that is woven in twill and overlayed.

^^ Bingo Joe...

The entire process to make something out of real Carbon Fiber is expensive when done correctly..

The Lexus Maple Wood, Grey Wood, or Silver Trim IS-F interior is cheaper to make than lets say Real CF material, parts and process combined.

OEM Ferrari & Lambo interior real carbon fiber accent examples:

What's the difference between an 08 and a 09 Navigation unit? (That's one of the items he changed).

Just the fascia and the buttons on the nav screen. Firmware is the same, Generation 5.
