Depends on the tires. Usually it will help with launching.

just got back from a test drive, the VSC light was stuck on so didnt need to try to figure ou the foot peddle menouver.
however i do have a question though, i test drove an '06 but it had an ect switch that can be turned to PWR,ECT,or SNOW, isnt the PWR what ingages VDIM? cause it also turns on the traction light.

and it had a trac button,
I thought '06 dont have these features?

i love everything about the car, and the only bad review ive always heard was there wasnt much leg room in the backseat..
I sat in the back. its actually alot better than most cars, with the front seats all the way back, then ya you cant ever fit back there, but with the seat all the way foward a had like 4" from my knee caps to the back of the front seats, and im 5"11! but theres plenty of head room as well

the car is pretty spunky too, chirped the tires all through 1st gear without power breaking, i tried power breaking once at 1500rpms and just roasted the tires,,
tthe only thing i dont care for to much is the gigantic mirrors.

If the PWR/ECT/SNOW switch is turning on the traction light, there are issues with that car. The two are not related in any way. If the traction light is lit, and remains lit, again, there are issues. In a '06, push the trac button once, and trac is disengaged, but reengages automatically when the car reaches 30 MPH. In '07 thru '09 models, the same is true. However, in all models except '06, pressing the trc button for more than 5 seconds will permanently disable traction control, at all speeds. This is cancelled, of course, when the car is shut off.
VDIM can never be disabled. Traction and skid control are only part of VDIM and the ONLY part of VDIM that can be temporarily disabled. ABS and brake assist are also part of VDIM and they cannot be disengaged under any circumstances.

if you just have to push the putton to turn off traction control on the '06.. then whats the meaning of pushing in parking brake, push brake twic etc..?
