hey
im planning to re-tint my car. but my friend said i might not be able to because the antenna is on the back windshield. for example...TLs cant be retinted. so my question is....is it safe to retint mr back winshield??
yes you can retint, but you have to get a special kind of tint film which is made for cars who have there attenas on the back window. Our cars are not the first to do this so yes there is such vendors of such tint film. I have limo tint on my rear window , the brand they used was Greystone i believe. here is more info http://www.johnsonwindowfilms.com/GSN.php
i also have greystone on all 5 windows (includes sunroof) , total cost me around $200 for all 5 and labor. It should be cheaper depending on how many windows you are trying to do.
oh yeah Greystone is lifetime warranty , no bubbles or discoloration, if so they will replace the film free of charge!
thanks for all the feedback.
my friend is good at tints. he's been doing it for a while. so im pretty sure if i asked him to, he can do it carefully without removing any lines.
btw..wat will happen if the lines are removed?? like, how do i get it fixed?
i've had tint removed with no problems. just have a pro do it. if your antenna lines go, your defroster lines will go as well. they do make repair kits for them. you simply apply a thin metal film to the broken lines so the heat can transfer across. easier said than done though. gl man!

i removed my tint no prob i sprayed clear ammonia on the tint, then i stuck on a black trash bag on pressed it on my rear window tint (the ammonia stuck it in place), parked with it facing the sun on a 85degree day went inside for 1 hr came back out and it peeled right off no issues.
