No problems.
Car runs fine, plenty of pep, and ~ 25-26 mpg combined

same here been running 87 regulars w/o any problems...
correct me if im wrong...i thought this subject was beaten to death with conclusion that regulars will not harm ur engine...will not lower mpgs....will however lower the performance a little which u will never notice unless u push ur is to the limit....

The car requires 91.
If you put 87 in it what happens is this-
The engine will knock. The sensors will notice that and retard the engine timing to prevent destroying it. You now have reduced power. It's entirely possible you have worse mileage too, negating your savings entirely while very very slightly damaging the motor.
After a while since the car wants to run on 91, and it has NO IDEA what fuel is actually in it, it will add timing back in. The car will knock again. Cycle repeats.
Each cycle is unlikely to kill the motor. But cycle after cycle, year after year, is bad.
You might drive 100k and have it still run, but it'll be in a lot worse condition than a motor that ran on 91 for that 100k.
All to save $3 a tank on a $40,000 car.

Been running 87 in my car since delivery. Just for fun I did a test with 3 tanks of 93 compared to 3 tanks of 87 afterward. On 93 I got 27,28,27 mpg. On 87 I got 29,30,30. I don't notice my car is any slower, but what do I know. I'm only an engineer and I tune cars on the side.

I lost 2 mpg on 87 vs. Cali 91.

There will be NO NO NO damage to your car with 87....They did a test and its about 1% less power and about the same MPG. There will be no damage done to the engine as modern engines are built with a tolerance...they have to be by law. They cannot sell a car that will not run (without damage) on 87. Now I normally put in Super because I like the performance, but put in what you want and it will run fine.
