Painting Grille (Middle section "fins")
So I installed the color matched bezel from Sewell last week and decided it needed more. I'm looking to paint the middle section flat black and the emblems gloss black.
My question is what do I need to do to prevent the flat black from chipping being as I cant put a clear coat on? Any help would be appreciated!

I think you can put a clear coat in it. The clear coat doesn't really make it shiny, it is in the type of black paint you use. Use a matte black paint and even with 3-4 coats of clear coat should still keep it in a flat black or matte look. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
Or unless you have any other reason you can't put a clear coat on it, then just ignore what I just said.

Really? I've used spray paints (from a can so I'm not sure if were using the same thing) and the emblems, grill I painted flat blacks has stayed flat black even after several coats of clear coats.
As a matter of fact, even when it is regular black and I paint emblems using spray paints, it never becomes too glossy, at least not to the stage of as glossy as regular car paints. But not as flat as flat black, you get the idea though.

The rear was done by me.
I would without a doubt get the front done because of the rock chips etc. It holds up much much better.
