SL2Vi - Who has it and how is it working out.
I've done some searching and about all I have found was the group buy thread. Not a whole lot about functionality in that thread.
So now that it has been out a few months and members here have installed it how is it working out?
Specifically;
1. Does it work/stack w/ factory XM satellite radio?
2. Does it show video, while driving, if you have performed the Nav Hack?
3. How are the song, artist, album, playlist menus?
4. Is there a search function to search any or all of the above (#3)? If so which ones?
5. In general, are you happy? How the general functionality/interface?

1. Yes, depending on which package you setup
2. Yes, it will play vids IF you do the NAV hack AND cut/ground the "Parking Brake" wire
3. Menu structure is kind of confusing at first but you will need to put your songs into a playlist for it to play.
4. No search function
5. Yes, happy with it. Sound is great, video's are in good quality and SOUND IS GREAT!
No, can't play vids if you HAVE NOT done the NAV hack.

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. It emulates the cd player.. so the menu looks the same as the cd player would on a nav display. not sure about non-nav.
4. no search function
5. Excellent sound and video! Get it for sure!

About the charging issue, this link shows that support for charging the iPhone is "coming".

Also, I have the SL2I-UP and my newer iPod nano charges just fine. It's not the newest nano that can be shaken, it's the squarish one.

oh and i love my vaistech... it does take a few minutes to get used to how the menus are setup... but im a pro with it now and its awesome i made sure to clean up all my different artists..any artists that features someone else i made the name just the original artist... as not to have a million folders for each one... you'll see what i mean when you get it

Anybody use this to play podcasts? Do I have to make a playlist and put all my podcasts in there or does it read them natively from the ipod's podcast section? I saw somewhere that the Lexus controller had a podcast option.
