have it and love it.

reason why i got it was because i didn't want to spend an inordinate amount of money on an upgraded sound system.

ML does everything i need it to do. the DVD thing is icing on the cake.

bit off topic i've heard the ML and i love the sound and the DVD but its impossible to find one here in texas so i was wondering is there anyway that you could add dvd playback to the non ML cars? i mean yeah you can always do the aux input nav hack thing but i'm talking about using the actual drive thats in the center console already or would that take a whole center console swap?

How does it sound with a sub? does it integrate well? I assume you disabled the stock sub huh? what size sub do you have? I really like the 4080 enclosures for the 2IS

I have it, and satisfied with it. Never listened with the non ML version.

The stock 6-disc changer is a CD drive, not a DVD drive.

The only way to get the DVD changer is to get -both- ML -and- Nav together.

it sounds great and there is a diy thread for hooking up an aftermarket sub. yeah i cut the wires for the stock sub bc i heard it could blow if u turn it up too loud. i also have the 4080 enclosure and it was a very good investment leaving me more trunk space. feel free to pm if u have any other questions.

The decision to get it is quite simple. If you are even THINKING of upgrading the sound system, BUT don't want to spend $3000 doing so, just get the ML.

Since the IS interface is so nice (especially with NAV), it will cost quite a bit to upgrade everything to make it work right.

For what it offers over the stock system, ML is worth every penny. I love it. Besides my bass shattering days are over, and enjoy the clarity the ML provides over the std system. Drive a few days in a 250 loaner listening to the same music in a NON ml car and you will easily hear the difference.

The range is not nearly as dynamic, and the sound just doesn't seem quite as full and balanced. Stock system is good, but not great. ML is great but not phenomenol, but if you aren't going to spend a few K upgrading, its not worth it to eveh try.

Your best bet is the vaistech sl2vi. You can watch ipod movies on your nav screen.

I have ML and its not bad. The DVD function won me over especially when I got the DVD/Navi override plug and play kit.

I am the kind of guy where I rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
