hi, a Is i recently purchased have a protective coat on it that i purchased from lexus dealership the coat is to preserve the paint and from bird stools etc etc kinda thing
my question is i am planning to install a spoiler with just the tape it came with on the OEM spoiler and not planning it bolt on
since my car have a protective coat on it would it be a probably for the tape to hold? or is there a way to remove the coat only on the edge of the trunk ?

I hate to burst your bubble, but that "protective coat" is worthless. I negoiated with the dealer to have it put on my car at the time of purchase; a month later a bird dropped a big one my hood, and it ate through the clear coat on my paint (this is even when I clean it off 5 minutes after the crap hit my car
).
I think you'll be fine with the tape. Good luck with the install.

Little E is correct. You dealer screwed you and misinformed you as to what they were actually putting on your car. Nothing more than a high grade polish /protectant. It offers no more protection than OTC products like Liquid Glass, Zaino and other owner applied products. But you will need to wipe the area to which the spoiler is applied with alcohol before you adhere the spoiler. I recommend using tape rather then adhesive. It will work well and the spoiler will not come off.
