Default my is350 was just stolen!

Hello.

My 2006 is350 was stolen right off my driveway last night. The only thing left is some metal drilling remains (looks like aluminum metal shavings) and a black plastic plug on my driveway. They managed to steal it WITHOUT having the keys (I still have both key/fobs in my house). Would you be able to help me in any way figure out how they managed to do this. My wife was up all night watching TV and she did not hear any noise (the alarm did not even go off). Would the theives have been able to steal the car AND drive it away? Or did it have to be towed? I was told this car has an engine immobilizer? Do you know if these cars are being targeted by theives for any reason? I live in the suberbs just outside of Toronto Canada.

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

That really sucks! I hope you reported it to the DMV, and the police.

If it was towed, you would of heard the tow truck.

The doors were never opened so the alarm didn't go off.

Was there any glass?

yes I reported it this morning. No sign of broken glass. Just some metal shavings. Looks like they drilled something out, possibly the door handle or something like that.

The thieves probably drilled out the key cylinder and unlock it from there. The alarm will not go off. I don't know how they drive off unless they have an extra smart key and was able to access your ecu and program it.

Hmmm interesting, i would think they towed it but maybe they turned off the tow truck as soon as it got close and pushed it behind your car and then pushed it away??

But that would require alot of manpower. Of course with all the corrupted people in this world, you never know.

I give up. But keep us updated as soon as you find info, maybe youll help someone else from getting their car stolen.

the only way they could get another key is from the dealership where I bought it and service it. I have the 2 keys still inside my house. The cops think it might be an inside job. Someone from the dealership.

I will definately post any information as soon as I get it. For now I would just caution everyone to put their cars in the garage if possible and dont keep any valuables in the car and install some kind of security camera at the front of the house. I learned a valuable (and expensive) lesson.

I was gonna put something like "mother******* bast****" but it was too long so decided to go with gonein60s.

I'm sure it didn't take much longer than that for them to take the car. Real professionals.

Unless someone at the dealership made a key for your car, and programmed it to your car while it was at the dealership.. then i highly doubt it was an inside job. You must program a new key to the vehicle's ECU in order for it to work. This is not possible to do while in someone's driveway (unless they had one of your keys). It is possible to re-flash the ECU and erase all of the keys and start fresh.. but this requires access to Dealership TIS plus a Techstream scanner.. Even if you had all of that, you cannot access the dealership TIS system from someone else's wireless internet system... the IP address at the dealership is registered with Lexus in order to validate the TIS info. Sooo..... my guess: they drilled your lock, turned the cylinder by hand, opened the car up, unlocked the shifter, rolled it out of the driveway, and towed it. In my professional opinion, there is NO other logical way to steal this car.
