I've just got my Tom's rear lip and planning to do the install soon. I know that the lip has to be screwed in from beneath and the wheel arch areas. As for the top bit that sits flush on the bumper, it seems that this is only held together with 3M tape.
Am I missing something, or is this it? Just thinking if that 3M tape strip that comes stuck onto the lip is strong enough to hold it together
When I had mine on what was holding the whole lip was 3m tape. if I am not mistaken you dont need to screw it in cause u will have to drill a hole in the bumper
there is also a rubber strip thing that sits on the edge where the lip fits flush against the bumper, it seems to have been stuck on somehow with some sort of adhesive. However, some areas are not stuck and have come off. Can any suggest how I can stick that back on? or when i stick the lip onto the bumper with the 3m tape, will that strip go into place?
i was running my tom's rear lip with nothing but 3m tape and the push clips underneath for 4 months with no problems. i had a helluva time prying the rear lip off when i went to take it off...
Clay the area(if possible), wipe with rubbing alcohol, spray the area with adhesion promoter and let sit for a little under a minute, then apply the lip with the double sided tape.
yea i would love the wald rear if it wasnt so big around the exhaust for the quad exhaust...toms would flow better. just dont want the front lip lower than the rear lip?? u guys kno what i mean?
