RECIRCULATED AIR BUTTON help!
First of all let me state the problem. I'm driving behind an old car and I can smell the gas from that car very strong. I'm not using air conditioning, I left it on recirculated mode, and I can feel the air coming in very strong as if I'm putting it in refresh mode.
Therefore, I came in lexus dealer this morning and asked them to check it out for me, and the service guy said no, he can't do that. He gave me a long lecture on how there is 20% air still flowing in when the button is left at RECIRCULATED AIR. I ask him where is that document, which indicating the 20% air flowing in, and he told me check the manual. I when home and checked the manual and it did not indicating any thing like that. Is there any document that you guy have out there, which is showing how this thing work? The only thing I see in the manual is when in recirculated mode, the air should recycle. That's all I can see.
Sorry for the long story, but I need your help.
Thanks guys.....

It's possible that the door that controls the recirculate air is broken. Many people in this forum did that when trying to replace cabin air filter. If you want to check whether it's broken or not look it up in manual how to change cabin air filter. The filter is in the passenger's glove box.
