2006 IS250awd 30k miles developed engine rattle
Hey everyone
the other day i started my car (IS250awd, 29,500), and as it revved back down it had a loud rattling noise coming from the engine =(. i drove to class and parked, went to class. when i went to leave and turned the car on i was listening veryy intently for it.. but it wasnt there
then the next morning when i started my car, it rattled again. Its been about a week since this, and the rattling comes on every so often, some times loud and for alot of the startup time, and sometimes its just a small click, andd sometimes its not there at all.
I dont want to take it to Lexus just yet because with my luck they wouldnt be able to replicate anything and it would be a waste of time, but i've been driving careful lately and really trying to figure out this noise..
any advice as to what to do otherrr than bring it to a lexus dealership (which i'm probably going to do if this keeps up for a week longer

Possibly a motor mount is loose or bad. Have you checked your oil level? Often times in Hyandai's, their is a upper cam knock at start-up due to poor lubrication by design.

I search on lexus tsb and they have a record of a TSIB but there is no attachment. Maybe you can ask someone with a TIS subscription to get it for you. Or you can pay the $10 and get it yourself.
