Default Losing GPS accuracy in hybrid nav disk?

My nav lost its GPS satellite connection recently, so I'll be taking it in for the 2006 ISx50 TSB. I know that I'll lose the override switch, so I was planning on making a backup of my current 5.1 (with override) disk before taking it in, but I want to make sure that the old loading.kwi doesn't have the GPS connection fix in it. Does anyone know?

You have to check your firmware version. 1550 does not. 1600 has the position fix, but retains the override capability. 1650 disables access to the override screen.

Do you know which one the TSB has?

1650. That's why it's the TSIB disc. It came out after the bypass instructions were posted here and Lexus decided to remove the capability. My car was built in 06/06, so it came with 1600 firmware which fixed the GPS issue and left the override intact.

So is there anyway to get the 1600 firmware? It would suck to fix the gps acquisition problem then have to deal with the lack of override. sigh.

You'd need to find a nav disc with the right firmware, then make your own hybrid disc.

Part number is 86271-53020, 464210-0629, DATA ver. 5.1.

I have one, but it's not for sale. I need it.

teejnut, armed with the above information, keep an eye on eBay. People occasionally put up their old nav discs for auction after upgrading to newer ones.

Thanks for the info! It's strange that this issue happens all of a sudden, I've had my car for ~2.5 years with almost no problem until now. And now it can't acquire the GPS signal. I did pull the gps fuse last night and that seemed to solve the problem for now.

You should try reloading your disc from the over ride screen. Press the load button to reload the system and the gps tracking should be restored. I did this and it has been working for a few months now.

Really? I tried that and it did nothing. I just pulled the fuse and have the gps reload and it's been fine for the last few times.
