Default Front plate holes

Ok guys, ease my mind a bit here. What do you think?

Here's the deal. I purchased the car a couple of days ago. Now, during my experience at the dealership, I test drove the car, did the walk through and such. Now, during the negotiation, I ended up going with a different car, because I didn't want the chrome wheels (don't like 'em) etc. Long story short, I didn't "fully inspect" the actual car I purchased. I mean sure, I did check it out, but for whatever reason, I didn't notice the front plate bracket on the car. Now, here in AZ, we don't need those. So, first thing I did when I got home was take it off. Now there are two very ugly holes in the front bumper.

Additionally, behind the license plate frame, the paint is peeling off. This is a brand new is350, mind you.

So, I call the dealer and speak to him about the problems. He was out of town (they forwarded me to his cell phone), so he couldn't go over specifics, but he said, "Yes sir, bring it on in when I get back in town and I'll get all your concerns taken care of." Well, I have no doubt they'll take care of the paint chips on the trunk, but what do you guys think about the gaping holes in the bumper?

I will be very happy if they swap out the bumper or something, but part of me is worried they're gonna screw me and say, "Sorry, you accepted the car" etc.

What do you think? I'll find out for sure on Thursday, but I guess I'm looking for some peace of mind.

you're screwed. probably need to fill the holes and repaint the bumper. Which may be a good thing since the stock paint sucks ***.

Your best bet is to have the holes filled in and bumper repainted. I doubt they will do this for free as you bought the car with the bracket on, so it is not a defect.

I would be very surprised if they do it without charging you. You accepted the vehicle with the bracket on already. When I purchased my vehicle they gave me a choice if I wanted the bracket installed or not. I said no and tossed the bracket in the trunk. Good luck.

Wouldn't it have been easier just to swap the wheels.

Well, they said, "We have the exact same car, but with the gunmetal wheels". So I thought it was all good. I didn't notice the front bracket until I got home. The salesman from the dealer called me today and set me up for an appointment to bring it in on Monday. I asked him if he knew specifically what they were going to do about it (hoping to get a commitment to something), but he said he didn't know and they would "address my concerns" when I brought the car in.

I guess I won't know until Monday.

you are suppose to inspect the car before you drive off the lot cause once that happens, its all up to them since this doesn't seem like warranty work

Well guys, I dropped her off last night. They gave me a brand new ES350 as a loaner (not bad). I had to wait until today for the verdict as it was after the service guys left, but I just spoke with my salesman as well as the service manager and they're going to fill, sand, and respray the bumper - good as new. No charge.

The key here that might help you out, was you said the pant was peeling behind the bracket. The holes may be 1 thing, but on a new vehicle the paint should NOT BE PEELING behind the bracket. Sounds like some one screwed up the bracket install

Oops, I apologize for the misunderstanding. The paint on the front bumper is NOT peeling off. It just has the two holes there - but they're going to fill them for free.

When I mentioned the paint peeling, I meant on the trunk of the car, where the rear license plate is. They're repainting that as well.
