I was waiting on pics from the 09 with red-outs. Makes the car look much much better IMO. Thanks for the post. I still have no idea why Lexus does this to such a great car. At least the vinyl is a cheap quick fix that lasts.

based on your images they seem fine to me too
For me i was not lucky enough to apply the lateral lining of the red out for it didnt fit well on the edges and groove of the taillight (some bubbles which i couldnt remove and some parts which are not sticking well).. I decided not to place the lateral ones then ![Sad](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/sad.gif)

I pulled the side pieces on mine and reapplied them several times (stretched them as I applied) and they are pretty smooth. My problem is with the large piece, I can't get all of the air bubbles out and I ended up having to trim the corners because they wouldn't stick. I may order another pair now that I have a little practice. First I am going to try sticking a needle in the air pockets like you can do with the clear bra and see if I can smooth them out.

Did you use the wet or dry method? IMO, the wet method is very easy. Remove the backings and dump them all in soapy water. Clean the area with alcohol swabs and soap up the area. Throw them on there wet and align. Then work out the bubbles with your fingers while blow drying it.

For the large pieces I followed the instructions that came with them and used a spray bottle filled with water and baby shampoo. The side strips it said to apply dry. Your method sounds better because I couldn't get enough lubrication to keep them from sticking before I had them aligned.
